My site features a wide selection of decorated Ostrich,
Emu, Rhea, Goose, Duck and Chicken eggs and Silk and Tile Paintings.
The art of egg decoration goes back to
early civilizations, when eggs were colored and used as
gifts to celebrate the re-birth of life on the earth. From
ancient time until now, eggs have been decorated in many
ways. In France, from the 16th century onwards,
it became customary to exchange elaborate surprise Easter
Eggs. The high point of all time was reached in the
fabulous egg-shaped treasures created by the imaginative
goldsmith of Russia, Peter Carl Faberge, and his meticulous
artists and craftsmen. Their creations have provided
inspiration to many real eggshell decorators all over the
world. The first Imperial Easter Egg was made by Faberge
for Tsar Alexander III who gave it as a gift of love to his
Tsarina, who hailed from Denmark.
The eggs featured on this site are individually hand-crafted
making each piece a masterpiece of its own kind. Each egg
has been created with great precision and ingenuity and
involved several man hours of intricate work.
